OUR FAITH
What We Believe
Throughout the centuries Christians have given expression to the details of this relationship through creeds and confessions. One of the earliest and most accurate of these expressions is called The Apostles’ Creed. This creed still represents the essence of what followers of Jesus believe.
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
Reading Plans
Scripture reading is an essential element for the maturing Christian. The Bible helps us understand God‘s will and how he works in the lives of his people.
First Baptist Tulsa recommends a reading plan based on your current level of experience with the Bible. If you already have a consistent reading plan of your own, continue to use it. The important thing is to be exposed daily to God’s voice as he speaks through the Scripture.
